About~
I spent some time at a seaside house in a space that felt completely separated from everything else. It was both the beginning of a new chapter and the beginning of an ending– an inevitable milestone. Being both untethered from the outside world and grounded to myself and family brought out a philosophical type of cabin fever that I can’t quite bring myself to miss.
However, there’s a definite magic to small things that I was reminded of and I’m happy for that. I like taking small-scale photos because I believe that most of life’s wonder is in those little details. I took this at the small kitchen table after begrudgingly accepting the glass at my mother’s behest (drink more water!). Despite being sullen about my boring drink, it was still a happy moment in that golden light with people who cared about me. And yeah, I did finish it.
I’m made up of extremes, so I have to remind myself often to keep and maintain my focus on the positive. Otherwise, I tend to fall into a spiral of despair over the smallest of setbacks (perceived or real). The Glass has always felt so hopeful to me and I keep it close to my workplace as a reminder to stay true to my optimistic self.
